In the morning 23 Oct 2015, Prof. Nguyen Thanh My, CEO, President of My Lan Group, shared his experiences with iStartX Accelerator’s students. The sharing was one of practical classes from program’s mentors.

In the opening of the sharing, Prof. My said about initial startup experiences. That was human resources management when a company was established. According to Prof. My, it’s better not to accept for family member to take part in management board in the initial period and this also was a “bone and blood” experience which was taken from his unpleasant. Startups should find out team members which could “complement” for the others but they have to connect closely not only meet the others throughout 1-2 events (Teambuilding).

The following session was about ideas for successful startup. Firstly, Startup should solve specific problems about market, for example, imitation products, fake products, poor quality food. (Which was mentioned by Jack Ma, if someone complained about any problems you should not only do the same things but solve this problems. (Ideas, Problems).

To form an enterprise, people who start up have to distinguish two approaches between Startup and Small Business. Two models could tend to successful mass companies if they have appropriate business models. (Business Model Canvas). Prof. My give a sample about MyLan Group which developed from SB, after that it developed increasingly to form many technology companies.

In particular, a company has to buy it products. Distribution channels which are used to approach customers associate the succession of the Startup. There are many approaches, direct ones or indirect ones; it depends on product, startup and operation environment. (Channels)

Finally, Prof. My stated passion in startup, progressive attitude, strict discipline, products. So, they will give actual values for customers.

With over 3.5h of sharing, discussing and consulting for Startups in the program, Prof. My would like to support for startups through introducing them to his business relationships.
